Ph.D. University of California, specializes in American literature, Shakespeare, textual studies, and utopianism. He has published books on Edward Bellamy, Shakespeare, Raymond Chandler, and Anglo-American travel writing. He has published articles in (among others) Extrapolation, Utopian Studies, Arena, ESQ, ATQ, English Language Notes, and The Nathaniel Hawthorne Review. Forthcoming articles include a discussion of Hawthorne’s short fiction (for Revista de Estudios Utópicos) and an analysis of the relation between utopian theory and historiography (for Rethinking History). He is currently working on a translation of Max Nettlau’s Esbozo de historia de las utopias and two books on Shakespeare. He is the editor of the multidisciplinary international journal Utopian Studies, which is housed in the English Department at UAA.
